Theology: CP level students may be recommended for CPI level classes by teacher recommendation and with approval of the administration.

Among qualified students, the top 20 students, based on the student’s numerical average of his current English class at the end of the first semester, will be considered after the completion of a timed, department-approved, in-school writing evaluation.
Communications in the 21st Century: A minimum of a “B-” average in English 3 Honors or a “B” average
in English 3 CPI and a teacher’s recommendation is required.
English Honors: A “B” average in present honors course or an “A-” average in present CPI course is required. A teacher’s recommendation regarding the student’s demonstrated reading and writing proficiency is also necessary.
Writing 104: A minimum of a “B-” average in English 3 Honors or a “B” average in English 3 CPI and a teacher’s recommendation is required. Only motivated students need apply. A fee for this course is payable to the University of Rhode Island.

MATHEMATICS: All Math courses are subject to minimum requirements and teacher recommendations. The approval of the department chair is required for any unusual circumstances. All requirements listed below are minimum requirements unless otherwise specified.

Calculator Requirements:
-All students are required to have a TI-83, TI-84, or TI-Nspire (with 84 keypad) graphing calculator. (These are not available in the school bookstore.) The Math Department strongly encourages students to engrave their name on the front of the calculator so that if misplaced it can be returned to you.
-Students in AP math courses may use a TI-89 or TI-Nspire CAS (recommended).
The following are the exit criteria for the math department courses. All level changes also have with teacher recommendation as a caveat. To find out what course you should take next, please consult your current course. If you have any questions, please consult your teacher or the department chair.
Freshmen Courses: (You are currently a freshman)
Algebra I CP:
1) A or better: Algebra II CP1
2) A- or less: Algebra II CP
Algebra I CP1:
1) Students with an A average at the end of the year may sign up to take the Algebra I Accelerated Final Exam. If they get a B- or better on this exam they may take Geometry Accel.
They should sign up for Geometry CP1 at this time.
2) Students with an F should sign up for Algebra II CP.
3) Students with a D should consult their teacher as to whether they should sign up for Algebra II CP or Geometry CP1. Students who earned their D because of a poor work ethic should still be placed in Geometry CP1.

3) Students with an A average and solid work ethics should sign up for Geometry Honors. You may (departmental invitation only) also be eligible to take Algebra II Honors over the summer. Students who achieve at least a B- or better in this course will skip Algebra II Accel their junior year and take Pre-Calculus Accel instead. Students who receive an A in the summer course may be invited to take Geo-Trig ERS as a Sophomore.
