WARWICK, RI (September 8, 2025)- Bishop Hendricken High School opened the 2025–2026 school year with excitement at 2615 Warwick Avenue. The week began on Tuesday with Faculty Orientation, bringing teachers and staff together for Mass and important sessions to prepare for the year ahead. With a commitment to the school’s mission and student success, the Hendricken faculty embraced the call to serve their students in meaningful ways.
On Wednesday, the school’s Taking Flight tradition welcomed 8th graders, 9th graders, and transfer students to the Hawk family. Students met teachers, connected with classmates, enjoyed lunch outdoors, found their lockers, received their class t-shirts, and even wrote letters to their future selves. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Flight Crew, a dedicated group of current students and peer mentors, whose leadership and encouragement made the day unforgettable.
Thursday marked Student Orientations, where students received wisdom and guidance from Hendricken administrators. Principal Mark DeCiccio ‘03 inspired students with an important life lesson: “Hard work is the engine for success.” Students also gathered in their homerooms, received their books, and began building the bonds that will carry them through the year.
Finally, on Friday, the first official day of school filled with Hawk pride. Students went through their schedules, met their teachers, and felt the energy of a new year ready to soar.
With a strong foundation built during this first week, Bishop Hendricken looks forward to the months ahead and all that the 2025–2026 school year will bring.
Go Hawks!
