56th Annual College Fair is largest yet

WARWICK, RI (September 13, 2022) – Bishop Hendricken High School will host 132 colleges and universities from across the United States on campus this Friday, September 16, 2022 as part of the largest private college fair in Rhode Island, and the largest in school history.

The fair, which takes place from 7am-10am in both Pepin and McNally Gymnasiums, is organized annually through the School Counseling Office exclusively for Bishop Hendricken students. This is the fair’s 56th year.

“The School Counseling Office is excited to continue and expand on our tradition of hosting over 130 colleges on campus to meet with our boys,” said Nicole Poloski, Director of School Counseling. “This year, we’re excited to add StriveScan, a student scanning technology, which will make it even easier for college representatives and Hendricken students to stay connected. It’ll also give the School Counseling Office analytics and data on each attending school to help enhance our college planning efforts.”

“Our college fair is proof that the Hendricken investment is worth it,” said Mark DeCiccio, Principal. “Hendricken men are a different caliber of student to colleges, and that’s why they want to be on campus each year to meet them. These admissions representatives start their recruitment season right here in Warwick.”

Sophomores, juniors, and seniors will have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with admissions representatives as part of the fair. The Class of 2023 will also attend a presentation by Pam Heroux, Associate Dean of Admissions at Salve Regina University, on the college application process and essay-writing tips. Schools represented are as close as Providence and as far as California. The full list of all attending schools is below.

“We are thrilled to welcome over 130 colleges to campus to meet exclusively with our students,” said Natalie Kessimian, Assistant Principal. “Our school counselors have been working tirelessly, not only to prepare this wonderful event, but also to develop meaningful relationships with the schools in attendance and put our students ahead of others.”

More than 40 college representatives will also begin small group visits — both on campus and virtually — exclusively with Hendricken seniors beginning next week. For more information on the School Counseling Office, or Bishop Hendricken’s approach to college counseling and placement, click here.
