Bishop Hendricken Awards Prestigious Healey Scholarships to Four Students

WARWICK, RI (27 March 2026) –

In 2001, Mr. Joseph P. Healey ’84 established what would grow into one of the most impactful philanthropic initiatives in Bishop Hendricken High School’s history: the Healey Scholarship.

Created to support students with a strong desire to attend Bishop Hendricken, the scholarship has since become a meaningful and lasting part of the school community.
The Healey Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic potential and strong character. The highly competitive selection process includes written statements, interviews, and a thorough evaluation by the Admissions Office.
On March 26, 2026, the President/Principal and members of the Admissions team welcomed this year’s four finalists to campus under the impression that they were attending their final scholarship interviews. Instead, in a memorable and emotional moment, each student was surprised with the news that they had been selected as Healey Scholarship recipients.
This year’s recipients now join a distinguished group of young men whose lives have been profoundly shaped by the generosity and vision of Mr. Healey. The scholarship continues to open doors for deserving students, ensuring access to a Bishop Hendricken education that is grounded in faith and service.
Congratulations to the recipients of the Healey Scholarship: Nicholas Anderson, William Erben, Eddrick Fernandez Lopez, and Cole Rocha.
