Bishop Hendricken High School Announces New Pathway Programs for the 2026-2027 Academic Year

Warwick, RI (January 26, 2026) – Bishop Hendricken High School is proud to announce the launch of its new Pathway Programs, beginning in Fall 2026, reinforcing the school’s commitment to preparing students for success in college, careers, and life beyond the classroom.

Focused on empowering students through personalized, real-world learning, the Pathway Programs provide students with advanced academic coursework, hands-on learning experiences, industry-recognized certifications, professional internships, and meaningful networking opportunities. Each pathway empowers students to explore their interests, develop real-world skills, and build a lasting legacy at Bishop Hendricken and beyond.

Technology Pathway Program

The Technology Pathway prepares students for high-demand careers in the rapidly evolving tech industry through hands-on learning. Students engage with cutting-edge tools, coding, design, and problem-solving while earning college credit and industry certifications.

Coursework includes rotating offerings such as Cybersecurity, AI Literacy, Game Design, ITIL Foundations, and Computer Science, supported by state-of-the-art equipment including 3D printers, robotics systems, industry-standard software, virtual reality tools, and advanced computing labs.

Students may earn certifications such as CompTIA Security+, ITIL®4 Foundations, Google AI Essentials, and IBM Data Science, while also accessing dual enrollment and AP Computer Science opportunities. Seniors are required to complete a Technology Senior Experience aligned with their career interests.

Career pathways include Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Analysis, Game Design, AI Development, and IT Support.

Business Pathway Program

The Business Pathway equips students with foundational and advanced skills in finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, leadership, and management. Through experiential learning and real-world application, students gain confidence, ethical decision-making skills, and a strong understanding of today’s business landscape.

Required coursework includes Financial Literacy, Principles of Business, Marketing and Sales, Economics, Accounting, and Statistics, complemented by electives and leadership development through programs such as DECA, Entrepreneurship Club, Investment & Finance Club, and portfolio management competitions.

Students benefit from professional partnerships and internship opportunities with organizations including Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, Navigant Credit Union, HarborOne, Capital Wealth Management, and local businesses. Seniors must complete a Business Senior Experience, approved by the Business Pathway Advisor.

Certification opportunities include Sales and Emotional Intelligence Certification through Research Based Solutions, along with additional professional business credentials.

Performing Arts Pathway Program

The Performing Arts Pathway is designed for students passionate about live performance and storytelling through music and theatre. This pathway prepares students for college programs and careers in the performing arts and related fields.

Students may explore Instrumental and Vocal Music, Theatre, Musical Theatre, and Technical Theatre, gaining experience both on stage and behind the scenes. Performance opportunities include concerts, theatrical productions, and state and regional competitions.

Advanced coursework includes AP Music Theory, Theatre Studies, and specialized performance-based classes. Seniors are required to complete a Performing Arts Senior Experience in an approved field aligned with their artistic focus.

Career pathways include Actor, Musician, Director, Composer, Sound Technician, Stage Manager, Teaching Artist, and Arts Administrator.

Visual & Media Arts Pathway Program

The Visual & Media Arts Pathway empowers students to develop creative and technical skills in visual storytelling, design, and digital media, preparing them for careers in creative and media-driven industries.

Students may explore Film, Animation, Photography, Ceramics, Digital Design, Laser Cutting, and Media Production. Exhibition opportunities include film festivals, gallery exhibitions, regional competitions, and portfolio showcases.

Advanced coursework includes AP 2-D Art and Design, Film Studies, and specialized studio and media classes. Seniors are required to complete a Visual & Media Arts Senior Experience in an approved creative or media-based field.

Career pathways include Filmmaker, Animator, Photographer, Graphic Designer, Content Creator, Audio Engineer, Media Producer, and Creative Director.

Through all four Pathway Programs, Bishop Hendricken students may earn college credits, gain industry exposure, and graduate with a competitive edge.
