2020 National Honor & Junior Honor Society Inductees

Bishop Hendricken announces inductees into 2020 National Honor & Junior Honor Societies

WARWICK, RI (May 14, 2020) – Today, Bishop Hendricken High School is proud to announce the following students have been inducted into the National Honor & Junior Honor Societies as members of the 2020 induction class.

Founded in 1921, National Honor Society (NHS) recognizes student commitment to the values of character, leadership, scholarship, and service. Across the globe, more than one million students participate as inductees in NHS activities. Bishop Hendricken students who earn induction into the Blessed Edmund Rice Chapter complete a rigorous application process which includes a letter of recommendation, review of school citizenship record, essay, personal reflection, service hour requirements, and a minimum of 3.5 grade point average. This year, Bishop Hendricken has 65 inductees from the junior and senior classes.

“The true mark of educational success is not what you learn, but how you use what you learn” said Mr. Vincent Mancuso, Dean of Academics. “Our 2020 National Honor Society inductees are dedicated not only to scholarship, but also to action. They put what they learn in the classroom to use each day in an effort to make our school community better with service, citizenship, and engagement.”

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) inductees are middle school students who exhibit the standards of excellence as defined by the society, including scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Bishop Hendricken has 22 inductees from the 8th Grade SELECT program.

“We are very pleased to announce this year’s inductees of the Brother Edmund Rice Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society,” said Mrs. Kelly Stansfield, 8th Grade SELECT Coordinator. “These students demonstrate academic excellence, good character, the importance of civic engagement, and voluntary contributions to the school and community. They are true Hendricken men!”
