ABOUT:
“Sha la la, Joseph, you’re doing fine! You and your dreamcoat, ahead of your time!” One of the most enduring shows of all time, this telling of the biblical story of Joseph and his brothers is filled with great music, costumes, laughter, joy, and heart. Utilizing many different styles of music from pop/rock to country to musical comedy this sparkling show follows young Joseph as he faces adversity and triumphs through his dreams and his strong, unwavering faith.
CAMP WEEK: June 25-27, 2024
AGES: Students entering grades 6-12
COST: $75 per camp
MIXED-MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS
9:30am-1pm daily
Students will focus on presenting oneself through storytelling and exercises in being interviewed and interviewing. They will learn the art of eye contact and being present while interviewing or telling a story and tricks on owning your power in the room.
ACTING INTENSIVE WORKSHOP
2pm-5:30pm daily
Students will practice acting exercises to ignite creativity, self-expression and freedom. They will explore character and scene study work through the art of authenticity and emotional confidence exercises. A cold reading class using real scripts from movies and TV will empower students to use their observation skills.
CAMP WEEKS: July 8-19, 2024
DAILY TIMES: Monday-Friday @ 9am-4pm
AGES: Students entering grades 3-9
COST: $475 (sibling and multi-camp discounts available)
PERFORMANCE: Friday, July 19, 2024 @ 6pm
Students will build confidence, work as a team, and learn the foundations of musical theatre as they prepare to perform in a production of Newsies Jr! Each day will begin and end with an ensemble building activity designed to energize participants and build community among the cast. Our experienced teaching artists will also engage students in a daily workshop focused on a particular theatre-based skill. The large remainder of the day will be spent in music, dance, and acting rehearsals, as students learn the process and skills required to perform a musical. The session will culminate with a live performance for family and friends in the Daniel S. Harrop Theater!
CAMP WEEK: August 5-9, 2024
DAILY TIMES: Monday-Friday @ 10am-4pm
AGES: Students entering grades 6-10
COST: $250 (sibling and multi-camp discounts available)
Summer Screen is a unique week-long camp offered to students entering grades 6-10. Working in teams on location at the Bishop Hendricken campus, students will write, produce, edit and star in their own short films using hi-definition cameras and Adobe Premiere editing software. The air-conditioned Ni-Ro-Pe Digital Media Suite provides the perfect setting for students to immerse themselves in a creative and fun educational summer program. Our studio offers state-of-the-art equipment and resources, giving students the ultimate creative freedom to complete their vision. Students will have the opportunity to use hi-definition cameras, a green screen studio, audio recording equipment, steady cams and dollies in the creation of their film. At the end of the week, students will view their films on the big screen during their premiere event in the Dr. Daniel Harrop Theater. Parents, family, and friends are invited to the screening.
