The largest private college fair in Rhode Island attracts colleges and universities from across the nation
WARWICK, RI – Bishop Hendricken High School’s annual College Fair packed McNally and Pepin Gymnasiums on Friday morning as eagerly prepared seniors, juniors, and sophomores talked with college admission representatives from across the United States.
“In talking with college representatives that have gone to private fairs like this around the country, many say that other events usually feature between 20-30 schools,” said Mr. Joseph Adamec, Bishop Hendricken College Counselor. “We consistently feature close to 100, if not more. Hendricken students are exceptionally enticing to colleges across the country not only because of the rigor and excellence of our school’s academic profile, but also because they are prepared for the process.”
Ninety-five colleges and universities were represented at Friday morning’s fair – the largest closed, private college fair in the state – including schools as close as Providence College, and as far as the University of San Diego. Additionally, a number of colleges held special breakout sessions for students to ask in-depth questions about the admissions process, applications, and financial aid.
“The fair is structured in a way that all of our students are able to explore the schools and talk with their representatives in a non-intimidating, one-on-one environment,” said Adamec. “This allows seniors an opportunity to refine their college lists ahead of Fall visits, and also affords juniors and sophomores a glimpse of the process.”
