Bishop Hendricken announces 60th Anniversary Homecoming details

WARWICK, RI (September 27, 2019) – Bishop Hendricken High School announced today full event details and game day information for its 60th Anniversary Homecoming, taking place Friday, October 4th. The evening is highlighted by the historic football rivalry between Bishop Hendricken and La Salle Academy at 7pm. Gates open at 5pm.

“We’re looking forward to a tremendous evening in celebration of our school and its rich history,” said Jamal Gomes ’91, Athletic Director. “Our number one goal is the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all of our guests, and we ask that they please review this important event information before coming to campus next Friday. With these reminders, we know that the evening is going to be a great one.”

Events
5pm – Gates open
5pm – Food Truck Festival, presented by PVD Food Truck Events, opens
6pm – Alumni Homecoming Tailgate (free event for Bishop Hendricken alumni only)
7pm – Varsity Football vs. La Salle Academy
Immediately following game – 60th Anniversary Fireworks presented by E. Turgeon Construction

Fans are asked to please exit the stadium following the fireworks display.

Ticket Information
Tickets are $5. Admission includes game ticket and post-game fireworks display.

Pre-sale tickets will be sold at all lunches from Monday, September 30th-Friday, October 4th for Bishop Hendricken students and families. La Salle Academy students and families will be able to purchase a limited number of pre-sale tickets at their school. St. Mary Academy – Bay View students and families will be able to purchase a limited number of pre-sale tickets at their school, too.

The Athletics Office will be open for general public ticket pre-sales from Monday, September 30th-Thursday, October 3rd from 9am-3pm. A limited number of tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate the evening of the event, but fans are heavily encouraged to purchase ahead of game day in order to guarantee admission and skip lines.

Parking
Parking will be available on campus on a first come, first served basis. The Warwick Avenue and Oakland Beach Avenue lots will be open for parking until filled. Additional parking will be available at the Big Lots parking lot, located adjacent to the school at 2485 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI 02889. Shuttles will be available from the Big Lots parking lot to the gate on a continuous basis from 6pm-10pm.

Accommodations
Concessions will be available as part of the Food Truck Festival by PVD Food Truck Events beginning at 5pm, and serving until the end of the third quarter of the game. The Hungry Hawk snack bar will also be open for food and beverages. Restrooms will be available inside the stadium. Golf cart shuttles will be available for patrons needing assistance from the admissions gate to the stadium.

Student Sections
Bishop Hendricken’s student section will be located in the middle of the grand stand behind the home sideline. La Salle Academy’s student section will be located behind the visiting sideline. Supervisors will be available to guide students to their respective sections on admission into the stadium.

How to Watch
Fans unable to attend the game can watch the contest live, and for free, on YurView at www.YurView.com/live, or Cox channel 4 or 1004.

Mosquito Safety
Bishop Hendricken has taken a number of precautions to keep fans safe from the risk of mosquito-borne illness. Prior to Friday, the stadium will undergo its final round of spraying treatment. All fans and spectators attending the game should wear long-sleeve shirts and pants, and treat themselves with bug spray containing DEET prior to the game. Bug spray containing DEET will also be available for all athletes, coaches, officials, and fans at a designated area in the stadium.

Bags & Items
No backpacks or other bags will be allowed on campus or into the stadium. Ladies’ handbags will be permitted. No objects will be permitted into the stadium, including flags, signs, noisemakers, or other props.

Security
The safety and security of our athletes, coaches, officials, students, families, fans, and guests is our utmost priority. The event will feature police, fire, and ambulance details, as well as designated supervisors and security from the school.

Fan Etiquette & Sportsmanship

Media Credentials
All media and photographers must be credentialed for sideline access. Media and photographers without a 2019-2020 RIIL credential should request a credential from the school for the event, here. No fans or spectators will be allowed on the sideline or inside the perimeter of the field at any point.
