Colonel Lawrence “Larry” Gallogly ’77 to deliver Bishop Hendricken Commencement Address

WARWICK, RI (June 5, 2023) – Fr. Robert L. Marciano, KHS ’75, President, and Mark DeCiccio ’03, Principal, are pleased to announce that Colonel Lawrence “Larry” Gallogly ’77 will serve as Bishop Hendricken’s keynote commencement speaker at the 62nd Graduation Exercises on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 5pm at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in downtown Providence.

Colonel Gallogly is the Director of Business Development at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company in Marietta, Georgia. In this role, he is responsible for U.S. Air Mobility C-130 and Aerial Refueling programs. He is currently leading Lockheed’s LMXT campaign, partnering with Airbus to capture the U.S. Air Force Tanker recapitalization program which represents over $60 billion of new business.

Marciano. “An outstanding student, athlete, and leader while with us before moving on to the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colonel Gallogly served a very successful military career for over 30 years while always focused on the Catholic values he learned here. We are thrilled to welcome the Colonel to encourage his fellow Hawks, our 2023 graduates, on their next chapter of life and success.”

Following his career at Bishop Hendricken, Colonel Gallogly graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1981 with a Bachelors of Science in Political Science and International Relations.

Colonel Gallogly was the commander of the 143rd Airlift Wing, Quonset State Airport in North Kingstown. He is a veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He flew in support of operations in Bosnia and throughout Southwest Asia. In 2004, he was chosen to command the C-130J model detachment during the historic first combat deployment of the Super Hercules. He served as deputy director of Mobility Forces assigned to the Combined Air and Space Operations Center in Qatar from 2009-2010.

After 30 years of service in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard and more than 6,000 hours in C-130A, E, and J models, Gallogly retired as a colonel. He joined Lockheed Martin in 2012 and earned his Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Colorado State University in 2017. He resides in Canton, Georgia with his wife, Liz. They have four children and four grandchildren.

The graduation will be streamed live from the Cathedral at hendricken.com/graduation. Doors to the Cathedral will open at 4pm for all guests. Tickets are required for the ceremony and have been limited to graduates and their families.
