David Haddeland named head lacrosse coach

Bishop Hendricken names new head coach to follow Kevin Murray

WARWICK, RI – Bishop Hendricken announced today that David Haddeland has been named head coach of lacrosse. Haddeland will replace longtime coach, Kevin Murray, who recently lost his battle to cancer. Murray had been Hendricken’s bench boss since 2002.

Haddeland grew up in New York and played lacrosse at Mahopac High School where he was a three-time All Section 1 selection, and a two-time Empire State player. In 1998, he was named a high school All American.

Dave continued his lacrosse career at Springfield College, where he was the lacrosse captain in his senior year.

After college, Dave returned to Mahopac High School where he served as head coach for five years. He coached five All Americans at Mahopac, and was the 2011 Section 1 Coach of the Year.

Haddeland is now in his seventh year on the faculty at Bishop Hendricken, where he has also served as an assistant football coach and physical education teacher. For the past five years he has been an assistant lacrosse coach at Salve Regina University.

Please join us in congratulating Dave on this well deserved appointment!
