Six students selected to All-State music ensembles, Hendricken touts top cellist

WARWICK, RI (December 6, 2023) – Bishop Hendricken High School is proud to announce six student musicians have been selected to the 2023-2024 All-State Music Festival sponsored by the Rhode Island Music Education Association (RIMEA). Three students were named to ensembles within the Senior Division and three to the Junior Division. All six will perform in the All-State Music Festival at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in March. Alejandro Quitero Cashore ’26 was ranked #1 cellist in the State of Rhode Island.

Dennis Gallagher III ’27 (Junior All-State Band, Clarinet)
Danu Kim ’27 (#2 ranking, Junior All-State Band, Flute)
Moses Weiss ’27 (#2 ranking, Junior All-State Band, Alto saxophone)

“We are so proud of our student musicians for their exemplary performance at the state level,” said Julia Paolino, Director of Arts. “The All-State selection process is incredibly rigorous, and this achievement underscores the standard of excellence we strive for in our arts programming at Bishop Hendricken.”

The All-State musicians were chosen based on auditions which required each to learn a specific piece for their instrument. Auditions were then evaluated by a panel of professional musicians across Rhode Island. The selectees will rehearse over the course of the next two months culminating in the All-State Music Festival in March.
