WARWICK, RI (October 11, 2023) – The following is a statement and reflection on the recent attacks in Israel from Fr. Robert L. Marciano, KHS ’75, President, and Mark DeCiccio ’03, Principal:

In reflecting on the past few days of violence in Israel, we join the world in praying for those innocent lives tragically caught in the crossfire, many of them civilian children and families. The attacks underway are a direct assault on the sanctity of human life.

This weekend, Bishop Henning called on our diocese to express its prayerful support for our Jewish neighbors and friends right here in Rhode Island. To this end, we want to be very clear in our support of our Jewish students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and neighbors during this time of fear and uncertainty: we support you and we are praying for you.

As a Catholic school, our mission is to teach our community to emulate the way, the truth, and the life of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we believe that the betterment of our world starts right here, with us. Our hope is that through His example, our community enacts positive change in our communities — however small — to promote peace and unity.

The prayers of the Bishop Hendricken community remain with our neighbors, here and across the globe. May God continue to bless and protect our world.
