2024-2025 Back-to-School Reminders & Schedule

Summer is coming to an end — it’s time to get back to school! Below are reminders on orientations, the first day of classes, and more.

SCHEDULES BY GRADE

8TH GRADE SELECT & FRESHMEN

  • Tuesday, August 27, 2024 @ 8am-2:30pm: Taking Flight Orientation (dress down)
  • Wednesday, August 28, 2024 @ 8am-11am: Orientation (full dress code with suit jacket)
  • Thursday, August 29, 2024: First Day of Classes (fall dress code, NO SUIT JACKET)

SOPHOMORES

  • Wednesday, August 28, 2024 @ 8am-11am: Orientation (full dress code with suit jacket)
  • Thursday, August 29, 2024: First Day of Classes (fall dress code, NO SUIT JACKET)

JUNIORS

  • Wednesday, August 28, 2024 @ 12pm-2pm: Orientation (full dress code with suit jacket)
  • Thursday, August 29, 2024: First Day of Classes (fall dress code, NO SUIT JACKET)

SENIORS

  • Wednesday, August 28, 2024 @ 12pm-2pm: Orientation (full dress code with suit jacket)
  • Thursday, August 29, 2024: First Day of Classes (fall dress code, NO SUIT JACKET)

TRANSFERS

  • Tuesday, August 27, 2024 @ 8am-2:30pm: Taking Flight Orientation (dress down)
  • Transfer students will also attend their grade level’s orientation (above) 
  • Thursday, August 29, 2024: First Day of Classes (fall dress code, NO SUIT JACKET)

LUNCH & CAFETERIA SERVICE

Lunch will be provided to all incoming students at Taking Flight Orientation on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Lunch will not be provided or available during any orientations on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Cafeteria service will begin on the first day of classes on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

TRANSPORTATION

All bus service — public or contracted — will begin on the first day of classes on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Bus transportation will not be provided or available on any orientation days.

TEXTBOOKS (WARWICK, PROVIDENCE, EAST PROVIDENCE, NORTH KINGSTOWN & OUT-OF-STATE RESIDENTS)

If you live in Warwick, Providence, East Providence, North Kingstown, or out-of-state, you will receive your textbooks in school during your grade level’s orientation.

POWERSCHOOL FORM BUNDLE

At this point, you should have access to your PowerSchool Parent Portal AND have completed the forms on the PowerSchool Form Bundle. If you haven’t yet completed these, please do so as soon as possible!

ASSUMPTION OF RISK FORMS, PHYSICALS & IMMUNIZATIONS

As a reminder, no student may begin participating in any sports or activities on campus until they’ve mailed or dropped off the following hard copy forms to campus:

Athletes trying out for fall sports are required to submit this paperwork to their coaches on the first day of tryouts/practices.

SUMMER READING

At this point, students should have begun or finished their summer reading assignments! All students, regardless of grade and level, can expect a summer reading assessment during the first week of class — so be sure to get it done!

NOTE: Students entering into AP English Language & Composition and AP English Literature & Composition have received separate assignments in school from their teachers.

DRESS CODE

If you haven’t already, summer is a great time to do some dress code shopping! As a reminder, students will need their sport coat/suit jacket for their class orientations, but won’t need it for the first day of school.

Each day, you’ll need…

  • Dress shirt (collared, Oxford-style, etc.)
  • Pants (dress, khaki, chino, etc.)
  • Tie (neck tie or bow tie)
  • Belt
  • Dress socks
  • Shoes (dress, topsider, loafer, etc.) — NO HEYDUDES!
  • Sport coat/suit jacket (winter dress code)
  • Polo shirt (spring dress code)

As a reminder, all students must…

  • Be clean shaven
  • Wear their hair neat, clean, and above-the-collar of their shirt
  • No earrings
  • No visible tattoos
