WARWICK, RI (November 7, 2019) – The Arts at Bishop Hendricken proudly presents All Shook Up as its fall musical from November 15-17, 2019 at the Dr. Daniel S. Harrop Theater on the campus of Bishop Hendricken High School.
All Shook Up features a three-show engagement, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 7pm; and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are $12 for students and seniors, and $15 for adults. Tickets are available for purchase online at: www.hendricken.com/boxoffice. Tickets can also be purchased by calling the Box Office at (401) 739-3450, ext. 120. The Box Office will also be open for ticket sales one hour prior to each performance.
“All Shook Up is a riot of a musical comedy, filled with big production numbers, laugh-out-loud moments, and plenty of homages to the legendary King of Rock and Roll,” said Richard Sylvia, Director of Arts. “Our company has been hard at work bringing this musical to life, and I am so excited for audiences to see it.”
Inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley®, All Shook Up takes place in 1955 when a radical guitar-playing roustabout rides into a conventionally rigid town only to change everything and everyone he meets. Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, the musical’s score is set to the hits of Elvis Presley®, including “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Jailhouse Rock,” “Hound Dog,” and “Don’t Be Cruel,” among others. Bishop Hendricken High School produced the New England premiere of All Shook Up in Spring 2007, directed by Brian Cordeiro ’99. The production has since been inducted into the Bishop Hendricken Hall of Fame, and Cordeiro gained national recognition for his original set design. The production was one of the first to be held in the newly-built Dr. Daniel S. Harrop Theater.
Sean Ryan ’21 plays Chad, the leading man, and Lily McMahon (Prout School) plays Natalie, the leading lady. The production features more than 70 student actors, technicians, and musicians from various Catholic, public, and private schools from around the state of Rhode Island. The production is spearheaded by a creative team of Hendricken faculty, staff, and alumni.
