WARWICK, RI (June 13, 2025) – Bishop Hendricken High School proudly celebrated the growth and accomplishments of their 8th Grade SELECT Class of 2025. As these students prepare themselves for the next four years, they shared their appreciation for the school and for both their academic and personal development. The 8th Grade SELECT Moving Up Ceremony was held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM on campus. Family and friends were able to gather together to recognize the students’ journey ahead.
The program began with a warm greeting from Principal Mark DeCiccio ’03, followed by a Gospel reading and reflection by Father Brian Morris ’03. The morning highlighted a few voices from the class who received a 4.0 GPA. Students Ryan Johnston, Jinu Kim, and Liam Sauve shared personal reflections on their experiences in the SELECT program.
Principal DeCiccio and 8th Grade Class Advisor Sarah Hunzeker presented each student with a certificate marking the completion of the program. Sarah Hunzeker, alongside the students’ respective teachers, also awarded Medals of Excellence in individual subject areas to the following students:

The ceremony concluded with heartfelt closing remarks and prayer as students look ahead to the beginning of their high school careers. The 8th Grade SELECT Program continues to provide an environment with advanced preparation for high school and a welcoming environment. Congratulations to all of the SELECT graduates on this important milestone, and Bishop Hendricken cannot wait to welcome you back to Hawk Country in September as newly high school students.
