Warwick, RI- Today, our Leadership Academy hosted its annual Senior Breakfast in celebration of the Class of 2025. The Leadership Academy prides itself on providing students with various leadership opportunities by addressing campus life, serving as student mentors, and developing initiatives for the student body.
While sharing breakfast in Bishop Hendricken’s Leadership Center for Excellence, students had the opportunity to individually recognize a teacher or mentor who has made a meaningful impact on their lives both inside and outside the classroom.
Speakers Assistant Principal Christopher Sheehan ’09, Vincent Mancuso Honorary Alum ’21, Dr. Frank A. DeLucia ’70, and Stone Freeman ’15, alongside his sister Quinn, all shared heartwarming advice and congratulations with these young gentlemen.
During the celebration, awards were presented to two individuals who embody not only all of Bishop Hendricken’s values but also those of the Leadership Academy.
Senior Emmitt Rattey received the Dr. Frank A. DeLucia Award, presented to a student who exemplifies the vision and qualities of the Leadership Academy and goes above and beyond all expectations.
Senior Quinn O’Connell received the Vincent Mancuso Award, given to an individual who demonstrates the strength, character, and balance required to be both a well-rounded individual and a capable leader. This award recognizes someone who stands out for their growing leadership abilities.
Both students were also presented scholarships from the Live Like Russ Foundation to support their future education and growth as leaders. This foundation was established in 2020 in honor of Lt. Russell K. Freeman, who lost a courageous battle with COVID-19. Dedicated to supporting families and students, the Live Like Russ Foundation awards scholarships to outstanding young individuals in Lt. Freeman’s memory.
A special thank you to the entire Bishop Hendricken Leadership Academy—staff, mentors, and guests—for making the Senior Breakfast a memorable event. To our graduating Leadership Academy seniors: always remember to carry Bishop Hendricken with you on your next journey, because Bishop Hendricken will always remember you.
