WARWICK, RI (August 24, 2026) – Thousands gathered along the shores of Narragansett on Saturday night as Bishop Hendricken alumnus and longtime benefactor Joseph P. Healey ’84 celebrated his 60th birthday with a beachfront concert featuring Maroon 5.
Held outside Healey’s Sand Castle By-The-Sea property on August 22, the celebration extended beyond his invited guests as the public gathered on the beach to experience the performance.
Amid the excitement of the evening, Healey also shared a simple and meaningful message: be kind to people. It is a message reflected in a legacy of generosity that has made an extraordinary impact on Bishop Hendricken and the greater Rhode Island community.
In 2001, Healey established the Healey Scholarship, providing deserving young men with the opportunity to receive a Bishop Hendricken education. Today, his generosity now supports 16 students each school year, and the Healey Scholarship represents the largest cumulative gift in Bishop Hendricken history.

Following Sting in 2006 and Lenny Kravitz in 2016, Healey continued his milestone birthday tradition in 2026 by welcoming Maroon 5 to Narragansett for his 60th celebration.
Healey’s generosity extends far beyond Bishop Hendricken, supporting educational and community initiatives throughout Rhode Island and beyond. His commitment to giving back has made a lasting impact on countless individuals and communities.
About Joseph P. Healey ’84
Joseph P. Healey ’84 is a Bishop Hendricken High School alumnus, investor, philanthropist, and U.S. Army veteran. After graduating from Hendricken, Healey earned a degree in biomedical engineering from Boston University and a master’s degree in technology management from the University of Maryland. He was a co-founder, partner, co-chief executive officer, and portfolio manager of HealthCor Management, a healthcare and life sciences investment management firm. Healey served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps at Walter Reed Army Medical Centerfrom 1988 to 1992.
