WARWICK, RI (February 24, 2025) – The Arts at Bishop Hendricken is proud to announce that the program will host its fourth annual show choir competition, the Lil’ Rhody Rumble, on March 14-15, 2025 in McNally Gymnasium. The event will be hosted by “Paramount,” Bishop Hendricken and Rhode Island’s first-ever competitive show choir. In its fourth year, the event has become the largest and most-attended show choir competition in New England.
The festival will feature 28 choirs from around the country, including groups from as far as Indiana and as close as Massachusetts. Each group receives a performance slot and the full schedule can be found below. Tickets are $20 per session or $30 for an all-day pass. Tickets can be purchased online, here, or in-person at the door. The festival will have meals, snacks, and merchandise for sale throughout the day.
“It’s incredible that in four short years, the Lil’ Rhody Rumble is the largest show choir competition in New England,” said Julia Paolino, Director of Arts. “We’re thrilled to be welcoming so many groups from throughout the country and showing them everything our little state has to offer. This event has quickly become a hallmark of our arts program at Hendricken and we’re grateful for the support of our volunteers and staff to make it all possible.”
Show choir is an high-energy performance genre that combines dancing and singing into a 15-minute show featuring music from a variety of genres. “Paramount” is Bishop Hendricken’s competitive show choir and the first of its kind in Rhode Island. Founded in 2014, the group travels to compete at festivals around New England and the east coast each winter. To date, the group has earned several grand championships, best choreography, best vocals, best band, best crew, best show design, best soloists medals, and more. The group competes in the New England circuit’s small mixed (co-educational) division.
