WARWICK, RI (May 30, 2025) — Yesterday, Bishop Hendricken High School gathered as a community for a special Ascension Thursday Mass with Bishop Bruce Lewandowski. The Mass was especially meaningful as twenty-one students received the Sacrament of Confirmation during the service, surrounded by their peers, faculty, family, and friends.
The Confirmation Mass emphasized the importance of faith as a lifelong journey. Bishop Lewandowski encouraged the entire student body to continue to be lifelong learners of their faith—to never stop growing with God. Live by the values and lessons of this sacrament, and hold the anniversary of your Confirmation close to your heart.
Following Mass, the celebration continued as families, sponsors, and loved ones gathered for refreshments. Guests had the opportunity to take photos with Bishop Lewandowski and Father Brian Morris ’03 to honor their special day.
As a gift of appreciation for his presence and spiritual guidance, Bishop Hendricken proudly presented Bishop Lewandowski with a custom Bishop Hendricken soccer jersey, gifted by the three soccer team captains. The gesture reflected the school’s pride and gratitude for the Bishop’s support.
“It was such a blessing to have Bishop Lewandowski with us on Ascension Thursday, especially so soon after his recent installation,” said Father Brian Morris ’03. “We are grateful that he confirmed twenty-one of our young men during this special Mass, which was also our final full-school Mass of the year.”
The Sacrament of Confirmation marks an important step in the spiritual development of these young men, and Bishop Hendricken congratulates them on their hard work in preparing for this new journey.
