WARWICK, RI (April 3, 2024) – Following Ivy Day on Thursday, March 28, 2024, Bishop Hendricken is proud to share that seven seniors have earned early and regular decision acceptances to five Ivy League colleges, including Harvard University. With these, the Class of 2024 touts the most Ivy League acceptances in the past five years, and Daniel D’Alessio ’24 becomes the first Bishop Hendricken student to earn a Harvard acceptance since 2011. The full list of acceptances includes:

The common thread between them all, however, is a relentless work ethic and commitment to their studies. They represent the very best of Bishop Hendricken — academically and otherwise — and we are incredibly proud of them!”
“It has been an absolute pleasure for our school counselors to work with these young men,” said Nicole Poloski, Director of School Counseling. “We are beyond proud of their growth and maturity over the past four years. We are so excited to see what their futures hold!”
D’ALESSIO is ranked 1st in the Class of 2024 and carries a 3.97 GPA in a full Advanced Placement (AP) and honors course load. D’Alessio has earned President’s List honors all five years of his Bishop Hendricken career. A National Merit Commended Scholar, D’Alessio is an AP Scholar with Honor, Rhode Island Civic Leadership Award honoree, Rhode Island General Treasurer’s Young Leader Award recipient, and Claiborne Pell Medal awardee. He has been inducted into the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and the Mu Alpha Theta National Mathematics Honor Society. As a senior, D’Alessio was elected Student Body Vice President. He is also a member of the Leadership Academy, Ambassador’s Club, Mock Trial, Peer Mentors, Peer Ministry, Stock Market Club, and co-host of the iHawk Radio podcast. A strong advocate for servant leadership, D’Alessio participated in the Brownsville, Texas mission trip. He plans to pursue a business-related course of study in college.
FINE is ranked 28th in the senior class with a 3.64 GPA in a full AP and honors course load. He has been inducted into the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society. Outside of the classroom, Fine is an incredibly talented wrestler, a sport he will continue at Columbia. Fine is a two-time National High School Coaches Association All-American, three-time All-New Englander, and four-time Rhode Island All-Stater. In his free time, Fine volunteers his time to coach youth wrestlers and enjoys giving back to grow the sport.
HAMILTON is ranked 2nd, boasts a 3.94 GPA, and has earned President’s List and High Honors all while taking a demanding AP and honors course load. A National Merit Scholarship Finalist, Hamilton is a proud member of the National Honor Society, National French Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta National Mathematics Honor Society. He has also earned with The French Consulate of Boston Award, Yale Book Award, and Bishop Hendricken’s President’s Scholarship. His counselor describes him as student who “consistently goes above and beyond in and out of the classroom to ensure his success and the success of others.” On campus, Hamilton is a member of the drama program, Arts Academy, Peer Mentors, French Club, Ambassador’s Club, Math Team, Gardening Club, Improv Club, Board Game Design Club, Hawks for Her, Surfing Club, and Creative Writing Club. Outside of school, Hamilton has volunteered for Farm Fresh Rhode Island.
IALONGO is tied for 3rd in the senior class with a 3.97 GPA. He is a straight-A student in a demanding AP and honors course load, earning President’s List honors throughout his Bishop Hendricken career. He is a proud member of the National English Honor Society, National Italian Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta National Mathematics Honor Society. As a junior, Ialongo received the University of Rochester Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award. A gifted swimmer, Ialongo has been competing since he was six years old and serves as captain of Bishop Hendricken’s program. He is also a member of the Arts Academy, Peer Ministry, Peer Mentors, Hawk Pilot Program, Marching and Pep Bands, and is an English tutor in the Hawks’ Writing Center. Outside of Hendricken, Ialongo is involved in Boy Scouts and has earned Eagle Scout rank. He is also heavily involved at his parish, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and participating in youth ministry. His counselor describes him as a student who is “clearly not content with meeting the minimum requirements; he seeks out challenges and always rises to the occasion.”
PEARSON occupies the 11th ranked spot in the senior class with a 3.74 GPA and straight A’s in a full AP and honors course load. Throughout his career, Pearson has received President’s List and High Honors. He is a proud member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, and National English Honor Society. Pearson has a passion for baseball, and despite injuries, is a member of Varsity Baseball and has played for North East Baseball in the summers. He is also a member of the Stock Market Club and serves as an English tutor in the Hawks’ Writing Center on campus. In his spare time, Pearson is a volunteer youth baseball coach and enjoys weightlifting and training. Over the summers, Pearson has worked as a landscaper and restaurant busser. He hopes to pursue a career as an orthopedic physician with a specialty in sports medicine.
PERRIGO is tied for 3rd in the Class of 2024, carries a 3.94 GPA, and is a four-year member of the President’s List while taking a full AP and honors course load. A gifted student, Perrigo completed Bishop Hendricken’s full Mathematics curriculum a year early. An AP Scholar with Honor, he is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta National Mathematics Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, and National English Honor Society. In 2023, Perrigo finished in 1st place in Rhode Island on the National Spanish Exam Level 3. His counselor describes him as “one of those special students who are few and far between; asking and thirsting for more knowledge and more difficult courses.” Perrigo is an active member of the drama program, earning credits as a sound designer and mixer. He is also captain of Academic Decathlon, an English tutor in the Hawks’ Writing Center, and member of the Arts Academy, Gardening Club, Math Team, Esports, Hawks for Her, Intramural Pickleball, and previously Swimming. Outside of school, Perrigo has volunteered for his parish’s Vacation Bible School and Farm Fresh Rhode Island.
SUKKAR is ranked 40th with a 3.54 GPA through a full honors course load. Throughout his career, Sukkar has earned President’s List and High Honors and has been inducted into the National Honor Society. A standout athlete, Sukkar will continue his football career at Brown University in the fall. At Bishop Hendricken, Sukkar was a three-sport state champion in Varsity Football, Varsity Basketball, and Indoor Track & Field. This fall, Sukkar was named First Team All-Division and First Team All-State in football. Additionally, he is a member of the Leadership Academy, Peer Mentors, Peer Ministry, and Chess Club. Sukkar’s counselor describes him as having “a heart as big as his stature.”
