WARWICK, RI (May 19, 2026) – Bishop Hendricken High School is proud to announce that “The Art of Stage Combat,” a feature produced by Art INC., has been nominated for a 2025 New England Emmy Award by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Boston/New England.
The nominated story was inspired by Bishop Hendricken’s 2024 production of Treasure Island and highlighted the artistry, discipline, and storytelling behind stage combat. The feature followed actor and fight choreographer Michael Liebhauser as he worked with Bishop Hendricken students to safely bring theatrical sword fighting and action sequences to life on stage.
The segment explored how performers create realistic theatrical combat through choreography, precision, and trust while transforming stage violence into an important storytelling craft.
This recognition highlights the dedication and creativity of the students, faculty, and artistic collaborators who helped make Treasure Island such a memorable production for the Bishop Hendricken community.
The New England Emmy Awards ceremony will take place on June 6, where winners will be announced.
Bishop Hendricken congratulates everyone involved in the production and in the creation of “The Art of Stage Combat” on this outstanding achievement.
